Hanze summer school Tanzania 2016 In the summer of 2016 I traveled to Tanzania to work with local companies and entrepreneurs. This summer school in cooperation with the University of Dar es Salaam Business School included four different projects that took place simultaneously in two intense weeks. After these weeks most of us joined a trip to the north of the country and went on a two day safari. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I hope you enjoy the movie I shot during our journey. Hey guys, Holiday season is in the air. Hey!!! ;-) If you plan on visiting Dar es salaam (aka...abode of peace in Arabic) then you've landed onto the right video. Dar es salaam is Tanzania's busiest city, despite it not being the capital city of Tanzania. It is home to one of the busiest heritage sites--Kariakoo, contrasted by the cool urban areas--Masaki, Oysterbay and Ada Estate all overlooking the beautiful backdrop of the islands of the Indian Ocean. In this video, I share some of my personal experiences of my time spent (2 and half months). A few sweeping statements are made, so just roll with it. Travel video about destination Tanzania. Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa and is located slightly south of the Equator. Its large variety of nature is overwhelming and includes the Serengeti and Selous Nature Reserves, the snow-covered Kilimanjaro and the spice island of Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean. It is a country of superlatives that originated in 1964 as a result of the union of two independent countries, Tanganika and Zanzibar. On the slopes of Meru and Kilimanjaro, coffee, maize, bananas and vegetables are grown and then offered for sale at various markets. Due to its fertile volcanic soil the entire region has been used for agriculture since the middle of the nineteenth century by both the Arusha Massai and Meru tribes. The Arusha National Park is one of the most beauti...
Tell me your culture shock stories in the comments! I wanna hear them all! Tanzania was my first international trip on my own - no family, on a budget, in Africa. I thought I had prepared myself for the trip, but I found that everything in Africa is intensified, and it left me feeling very culture shocked. These are all the ways I was unprepared for my trip to Tanzania! Cheers - Nathalie (All videos filmed and edited by yours truly!) Hey guys, I hope you're all having a fantastic 2015 so far!! Zanzibar is a "paradise-like" island just off the Tanzanian coast. An island of spice and exotic aromas, sultans' palaces, harems, shining white beaches and fiery red sunsets. The ancient oriental city of Zanzibar derived its name from its many old stone buildings. Charming and mysterious, they have witnessed much of the island's dramatic past and the tangled architecture of coral stone and shell lime serves as a fascinating backdrop to this colourful city that is strongly influenced by an Arabian way of life. I visited over the Christmas to New year period 2014/2015, attended the biggest new years eve party at Kendwa beach and got lost on the legendary fairy-tale island of global culture. Its definitely worth a visit! :-) ...

Tumanini Dar Es Salaam college (TUDARco), based in Tanzania, is a centre for quality education, offering a diverse range of academic qualifications. TUDARco along with Turku university of applied sciences (Finland) has started to perform an idea that brings students, in one hand, and entrepreneurs on the other hand, to assist each other in a learning process. For example, students of business school gain skills about the experience of how the market works in a real life. And entrepreneurs expand their knowledge about official information that they normally lack in their fields, or ideas on how to achieve their objectives through different new information communication technologies. All these practical actions are part of a big project - IRIS designed and executed by both education institu...

A portion of my speech from Al Muntazir Girls Primary School. My advice to you is this, even when you’re struggling, even when you’re discouraged, and you feel like other people have given up on you – don’t ever give up on yourself. Because when you give up on yourself that is when all hope is lost.
When two teachers embark on a cultural tour to a rural village in Tanzania, their astonishment at the determination of the children to get an education against all odds, and despite crumbling school buildings, turns their vacation into a life mission. This inspiring true story about community, friendship, and dedication reveals how great a difference just a few ordinary people can make. Karimu Foundation: http://www.karimufoundation.org/

Dar es Salaam (Arabic: دار السلام Dār as-Salām, literally "The abode of peace"), formerly Mzizima, is Tanzania's largest and richest city, a regionally important economic centre. It is in the Dar es Salaam Region administrative province, and consists of three local government areas or administrative districts: northern Kinondoni, central Ilala, and southern Temeke. The Dar es Salaam Region had a population of 4,364,541 as of the official 2012 census. Though Dar es Salaam lost its status as capital city to Dodoma in 1974 (not completed until 1996), it remains the locus of the permanent central government bureaucracy, and as the capital of the region.
